VSOHA is delighted to announce four new courses in the Yoga Therapy faculty starting in February 2020.
- Understanding and Regulating the Nervous System – February 8 – 9
- Fundamentals of Anatomy – February 28 – March 1
- Yoga & Pelvic Health April 4 – 5
- Yoga & Chronic Pain – April 25 – 26
These courses will benefit both experienced yoga teachers and also those new to yoga, as there are no prerequisites to enrol.
Experienced yogis can take advantage of the courses’ Yoga Alliance Continuing Education hours, which range between 12-15 hours per course.
Each of the new Yoga Therapy inspired courses takes place between February and April of 2020 and will be taught by Yoga Therapy Program Director Chelsea Lee.
Chelsea said the intention of these short courses is two fold. Firstly, to provide graduates with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge and stay connected to the VSOHA community. And secondly, to offer yoga based practices that will benefit non-instructors.
“This could be keen individuals interested in the knowledge for their own bodies, or practitioners of complementary modalities such as massage or counselling. Anybody interested in integrating yoga-based practices into their work with clients,” Chelsea said.
Chelsea has been championing a new wave of Yoga Therapy curriculum, which has not only lifted the profile of Yoga Therapy at VSOHA, but also the Yoga Therapy industry as a whole.
The short courses have been designed to offer practical tools that can be implemented into somebody’s life or practice immediately. “Lecture and theory will be grounded in practical application. It’s going to be fun to drop into a short, immersion course, and I look forward to learning with all the various practitioners that enrol!”
