The program combines the materials covered in the Foundations of Yoga Therapy and Advanced Yoga Therapy programs, along with a case study project and additional student clinic sessions.
Program Highlights
- Assess and address physical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual imbalances from an Eastern & Western perspective in one-on-one and small group therapeutic sessions.
- Learn to work as a yoga therapist with trauma survivors, people with mental illness, diverse and aging populations.
- Understand the philosophy and employ problem solving tools from Vedantic, Buddhist and Northern Indian Shaivite Tantric traditions of yoga.
- Identify and list common conditions, medications and medical terminology associated with the muscular, skeletal, respiratory, cardiovascular, nervous, digestive, endocrine, lymphatic and reproductive systems.
- Provide home yoga protocols and practices to address your clients’ physical concerns using the Integrated Systems Model (Lee & Lee) to uncover the root cause of the concern.
- Provide a practice to balance the chakra system using yogic techniques from the tantric yoga tradition.
- Conduct a case study project with an individual or group representative of a chosen population.
- Develop and deliver a series of yoga therapy sessions or classes based on your research and findings.
- Offer 1 hour Yoga Therapy sessions during Student Clinic, to members of the public.
