Course Description

Are you looking to better understand the fascia and how it contributes to dysfunction within the body?

Searching for new ways to help yourself, your students, or your clients release restrictions and move towards a sense of fluid integration?

Building from an inspired approach to movement and self-care, this continuing education course teaches alternatives to “stretching” as a means of creating ease within the body. The program is designed for those who want to deepen their understanding of fascia and expand their skills.

By building both a theoretical and embodied understanding of the fascia and its symbiotic relationship with other physiological systems and structures, participants will learn to activate the body’s potential to move in a more integrated and balanced way.

This is done by zooming in on several common areas of tension while mindfully exploring subtle and dynamic exercises that encourage the fascia to function in its natural, free-flowing way.  These exercises often lead to a sense of spaciousness, improved coordination, and an observable increase in range of motion.

Upon completion of the class, you will be equipped with a variety of specific exercises and movement principles that optimize the healthy functioning of fascia. You will feel confident integrating this approach into your own self-care practices, and in sharing it with your students and clients.

Instructor: Lisa Milloy, RYT, RMT

What began as heartfelt, living room dance performances evolved to become a lifelong inquiry into the body – both in movement and in dynamic stillness. Lisa has turned her knowledge and experience into practice. She travels throughout Europe and Canada skillfully teaching movement classes and workshops, as well as her inspiring approach to Functional Anatomy & Physiology, Biomechanics, and Holistic Bodywork.

She supports her students in developing an attitude of kindness and curiosity towards their bodies. Her teachings are rooted in her strong background in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and dance. They combine subtle somatic awareness with full-body conditioning, and slow, mindful, connective tissue release techniques.

Always on the quest for new knowledge, Lisa is currently training to become a Gyrotonic Trainer and a Biodynamic Cardiovascular Therapist. She is the founder of Holistic Bodywork Berlin, where she currently offers Myofascial Release, Biodynamic Craniosacral, Massage Therapy and Remedial Exercise treatments.
