Advanced Table Shiatsu
Course Description
A one-day workshop in Advanced Table Shiatsu. This continuing education course focuses on shiatsu techniques to use with a client on a massage table in prone position. Students learn how to safely apply deep, long-lasting pressure along specific points (tsubos) on the shoulders, back and hips. These techniques primarily use practitioners’ arms and elbows to maximize effectiveness with the greatest ease.
Shiatsu is a healing art based on the concepts of movement, energy and health. Practitioners apply pressure along the meridian trigger points, which helps release excess energy that can cause pain and discomfort in the body. Traditionally, Shiatsu is performed on a mat on the floor.
